New song from The Roots off of their newest project “How I Got Over” coming out June 22nd. This track samples Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.) by Monsters of Folk from their self-titled release that came out last September. Very interesting mixing of genres, we dig.

On Saturday, June 5th, The Roots will be holding their third annual picnic at Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing. The lineup is ridiculously good, with performers ranging from Jay Electronica to Vampire Weekend.

Emo kids, Hipsters, and Hip-Hopers shall be united for one night under the trashy venue known as Webster Hall. Diesel, the jean company, is hosting the concert on Thursday as part of its DIESEL MUSIC TOUR.

The 2009 Diesel:U:Music selected bands, HEARTSREVOLUTION and The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! will perform live July 30th at NYC’s Webster Hall alongside an all-star line-up: Theophilus London; Passion Pit; Cobra Starship; hip-hop’s newest all star Drake; and Grammy® winning The Roots with a special guest collaboration. All Diesel fans will have a chance to witness this private event with a limited amount of invitations to be given away at participating Diesel stores. One must show up to participating stores in a pair of Diesel jeans to qualify.
