Ratatat LP4

May 5, 2010

The duo from NY have kept true to their classic sound with the drop of LP4. The syth-bass lines and galactic keyboard build ups help create a journey through space that you and your alien friend can dance to. It’s a little slow, and defiantly stranger than what Classics and LP3 gave us, but still the same Ratatat we love. I wouldn’t except these tracks to break it onto the fist pumping scene, but they are helping me get through my time on the 5th floor stacks. Word is they recorded these and the LP3 tracks together and just joined the ones that felt right on the same album. LP4, a lil strange, but still some dank Ratatat.

Kid Cudi+ MGMT + Ratatat

September 8, 2009

Kid Cudi has teamed up with MGMT and the dudes from Ratatat and created some hipster rap.  via Pitchfork>>>>

Cleveland space-cadet rapper Kid Cudiknows his indie synthpop darlings. For “Pursuit of Happiness”, the third single from his forthcoming LP Man on the Moon: The End of DayCudi has lined up two Brooklyn duos as collaborators.Ratatat produce, giving it a hazy, plinkypsych-rap beat. MGMT‘s ghostly harmonies show up on the chorus, backing Cudi’s own gravelly croon. The song is a deeply stoned singsong nugget. Check the song out below, via Stereogum.
