Sigur Ros just posted an interesting blog post regarding the use of their music in TV commercials. It seems that Ad agencies around the world are using the icelanders’ emotion-filled post-rock to promote their products. It makes sense. Sigur Ros makes you happy, when you think of a product you will then be happy. 1 problem. The songs are not sigur ros. They are total knock-offs….seems ‘not chill’.

The Black Angels are doing something lots of bands have been trying lately. They’re recreating the golden days of rock music.
Think a softer than Wolfmother, yet a little more direct than Tame Impala. They dig the ’60s psych-garage texture, but don’t really seem to dig ’60s rock optimism. We like that. DIG.
The Black Angels – Bad Vibrations
Penn Alums, Steve Markowitz (AKA Hoodie Allen) and RJ Ferguson, are blowing up the air waves with the release of Hoodie Allen’s latest mixtape, “Pep Rally”. “Pep Rally” showcases Markowitz’s talents as a witty and playful lyricist, and RJF’s beats are simply one of a kind. With unique samples pulled from a range of diverse artists (Marina & The Diamonds, The Black Keys, Death Cab for Cutie, & many more) “Pep Rally” takes its place in the Hoodie Allen annals with style. Truly a must have. Download for free at http://www.timeforthepeprally.com/

UPenn’s own Golden Ages has a new video for his amazingly psyechelic-ethereal electronic tune called “Everything Will Be Alright.” The song premiered on Pitchfork. Its great. Watch it.
